Bionic Commando

There's only a few more weeks to get your entries in for our limited edition Bionic Commando t-shirt competition.

The exploding head "Pop Goes the Dictator" t-shirt (as seen presumably about to be modeled by1Up’s Jeremy Parish in this video) is a recreation of the most famous moment of the original Bionic Commando, when you took down Master-D and wiped him and his mustache off the face of the earth.

Now recreated in beautiful modern visuals by Capcom artist Shinkiro, there’s no other way about it: if you are a fan of the NES Bionic Commando, you want this t-shirt. Just admit it.

But we’re not going to just give them away, oh no. And we’re not even going to put them on sale. No, we want only the true, committed Bionic Commando hardcore to be able to don this garb.

So here is our challenge to you: recreate the legendary exploding head scene, using whatever real-life methods you choose, or your favorite generic photo editing software. Buy a jumbo bottle of tomato ketchup and a large collection of fireworks, use your favourite photo imaging software to recreate the real thing, or take your airgun collection to the watermelon section of the local supermarket - just recreate that scene.

You can see our lazy attempt to your right – we just can’t get enough Leon around here – but we’re sure you can do much, much better.

You’ve got about two weeks to get those entries in to us, or you’ll never have another chance again, because Master-D is taking these shirts to his grave...
