There's no time for introductions! We have too much stuff to tell you to contain in one measly blog post...
Bionic Jam now on sale!
As previously mentioned here on the site, Chris Kline, aka Vertexguy, recently took the stage at the Iron Man of Gaming event to perform an all-new rock remix of the Bionic Commando theme. You can purchase the song at our good friends Sumthing Digital right now, and the song will be up on iTunes very shortly, both for the low, low price of $0.99!
You can get a 30 second preview of the Bionic Jam over on the Bionic Music Player to your left – and we’ll have an exclusive video of the performance up here very, very shortly.
Vertexguy is a true guitar hero and when you see (and hear) him in action, you’ll understand why. If you like guitar skillz, as many people said in your recent poll, then you’ll love this one (and if you don’t, then just get the hell out of here and don’t forget to close the door on the way out).
PSN Features and Medals Revealed
We’ve been running our mouths all over the web recently, most notably at this post at PlayStation.blog. Of course, regular readers of the site will already know about the Remote Play feature Ben talks about in this post, but we’re also showing off some characters, weapons and the “Medals” that PlayStation owners can expect to see.
For owners of other platforms, we’ll have some more info on other Achievements and Medals right here on the community site very shortly, and also in other spots across the web (with special information for the Xbox 360 users - we certainly haven’t forgotten about you guys!)
The People vs Bionic Commando
Meanwhile, in a very similar location, we’re also running a little competition / Q&A over at the European PlayStation Community.
We’re opening the floor to posters to ask 3 questions to the developers GRIN, and the 10 people who have their answers chosen and responded to by them will also walk away with a sweet Bionic Commando t-shirt. Of course, you guys here at the BC community site can ask us anything anytime, if you don’t mind getting the patented Ben Judd “solid perhaps” as an answer.
Finally, Ben Says
“These next couple of weeks are gonna be big one. There’ll be some major comic-based announcements pertaining to Comicon and we are revealing a lot of new information around the net.
With all this information we may need to have little Gearoid working double time to get those blog posts up. So keep your eyes peeled and your blog-commenting-fingers ready!”
Unfortunately, I (Gearoid) am off to E3 shortly so we will have to get Ben to deliver the messages by carrier pigeon or something. Also, I do prefer to be referred to as "space-efficient".
Look forward to a ton of BC-related info shortly!

Every podc... errr, field report is the first field report for some people!
Aww... no special info for us PC guys? Or perhaps you just meant that it'll be handled on this site. ;)Thanks for keeping us informed! :D
"Of course, you guys here at the BC community site can ask us anything anytime..."
Like asking if we can have Andrew back on the show? Or maybe an awesome one time only video podcast. That would be sweet indeed.Agreed^
A video version would be nice :)Jamming out!
Please find a place for Bionic Jam in the 3D Bionic Commando -- if nothing else, it would make awesome music for the ending credits.I think it's awesome how y'all are providing so much stuff to us fans!
Guy in Iraq
Howdy;I and glad y'all keep up with all the comments us fans send in. But for the record, I'm an American in the U.S. Army. -- No harm, no foul.
I got all excited when y'all brought up the fact that people across the world are patiently waiting for the Bionic Commando games to come out. I just wanted to clear the facts, and to say that your reference helped brighten a sandy day for me.
I really appreciate your acknowledging me and I have already sent emails back to the U.S. bragging about the fact that your team recognizes your fans. I especially like how y'all ran down the list of the iTunes commenters, for all the other great people looking forward to the new BC games.
Again, thanks for the great fan support and I look forward to supporting your efforts through purchasing both Rearmed and the 3D Bionic Commando. The rocking new Bionic Jam is sweet!
Also, I see other people asking for a video version of the podcast. If you do go that way, please also keep a separate audio-only version of the podcast for us folks without lots of bandwidth over here in Iraq.
Thanks,
Creighton Holub

Gamepad support w 360 controller and PS3
Will Rearmed support Games for Windows 360-controller support for us who download it on Steam? Will medals work with the PS3 trophy system and with Steam achivements? Thanks and some minor info
@Creighton -> Apologies for getting the country wrong. My dad was a Navy Captain before cancer got the best of him so I have total respect for anyone in the armed forces, no matter what political climate we are in.And, I myself am just one man. There are times where the job really does get the better of me but it's comments like yours that keep me grounded. So let's just consider this a team effort on a global scale.
@MattLive -- All PC versions support the 360 controller (matter of fact that's how I play it at work). We have tried to design the medals in a way that they could be retro-tagged to unlock trophies for anyone who has opened them. However, there still isn't a lot of information out there for us 3rd parties so it won't be anything like tomorrow when you see the trophy implementation. I'd imagine it could take as long as a month but a lot of that depends on factors outside our control.
Unfortunately, the medals are not directly integrated into Steam's system. You have 2 options -- you can either build a PC version that is only catered to steam and therefore that is the only place you can sell it at, or you can build a normal version that can be sold via any digital distributor (Direct2Drive, DigitalRiver, Gametap, etc). Rather than putting all of our eggs in one basket we decided to go for a build that could be sold anywhere rather than the specialized build for Steam. Though, I do agree, Steam's service does rock.
Ben
Ben, what of steamworks?
I mean, one of the key points is that you can sell it anywhere while you get all the Steam goodness? Mayhaps I've misunderstood something, but it's worth a look.http://www.steampowered.com/steamworks/
Granted, it might be a bit too late in the game to add at this point...
Steamworks
Unfortunately, it does require special implementation and contractually you are stuck to using that system (I.e. cannot sell it on any other location than steam). But if you just do a regular version there are none of the rules that apply. I'm sure it's so Steam can protect their technology but yeah, it is a bit of a bummer. I did look into it very early.Shame...
Also, false advertising. :SAnyway, I take it that there are some manner of achievements (Medals) anyway, so that's good :)
Can't we at least get a release date for the release date.
Mystemo
Release dates are partially up to first party. That being said, we will have a firm date by the end of July for sure and previews and reviews will be hitting in the next couple of weeks!Ben
Worldwide support
Using the 360 controller with the PC version is an awesome addition!I left mine at home with my wife so she could play XBox and I just bought another here in Iraq, so I can't wait to play Rearmed with it.
Also, thanks for keeping up fans informed of what's going on with the games and how business is coming along. For too long game developers have kept gamers in the dark about details until the last moment.
How about working with Microsoft to have an option for the new XBox Live avatars with bionic arms, etc.?
Keep up the good work!
new trailer
It looks great! Shows new areas, new moves etc!
