Enemies: BioReign Infantry

Although classified as a terrorist organization, the group that has taken over Ascension City, BioReign, is closer to a private militia, a formidable paramilitary force that is far more disciplined, knowledgeable and equipped than any comparable terrorist organization. The basic unit of any miltia is the infantry soldier.

BioReign is composed of two groups: former Imperial soldiers and rogue TASC bionics, trained together in underground camps outside of FSA borders. Together they form a large and committed infantry. BioReign soldiers are proven in combat: Imperial soldiers fought a protracted campaign against superior numbers during their attack on the FSA, while TASC Special Ops "bionic commandos" were once regarded as the world's finest military unit. Together, these disparate elements have formed a fearful combination, drawing on both the combat experience and brute force of the Imperials, and the special-ops and technical knowledge of TASC. Following the Bionic Purge, BioReign is one of the world leaders in bionic technology, containing more rogue bionics than any other organization.

Due to the introduction into the modern battlefield of mechanical combat suits, the infantry's role may seem weakened, but the infantry retains its versatile and mobile nature, remaining one of the few military assets who could fight in almost any environment. Following the detonation of the Witherer explosive in Ascension City, BioReign have deployed their entire available infantry to secure the city. Due to the unique nature of the battleground, all soldiers have been fitted with special radioactive protection suits, face masks and equipment to handle any situation that might arise in the hostile environment. Although clearly inferior in sheer firepower to mechanical units, the foot soldiers make up for it in another vital trait of any military force: numbers.
